THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPES

Thanksgiving is my favorite time to share tradition, and the table and food makes the day with family and friends special. Below are some of my favorite table designs.

I hope that you are planning a day to be with family and friends and remember those who will be alone. Happy Thanksgiving and ENJOY!

And don't forget the Christmas towels.  More to come.

THANKSGIVING WITH THE FABULOUS BEEKMAN BOYS

Instead of my usual recipe on Saturday, I thought I would shake things up a bit!

If you like the sound of maple-bourbon roasted turkey, ancho-spiked sweet potatoes, and apple pie with rosemary and honey, pick up your copy of the November Country Living and get the recipes. I am telling you that this cook is going to put this menu of old family recipes from Brent Ridge and Josh Kilmer-Purcell of television’s Fabulous Beekman Boys to the test! ENJOY!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Above is an image of a Norman Rockwell Thanksgiving. It reminds me of what family and friends mean to me. Laden with food and special adornment, this family appears to be exceptionally happy and content.

We are living in a time when uncertainty is the norm. Unemployment, homelessness, hunger and sadness plague more Americans than ever. Our concerns for our children's future are real.

Today we celebrate Thanksgiving -- a day for family and friends to be together. For many, it is the only time during the year that everyone will be together -- for many others, there is no Thanksgiving.

Enjoy the day with those close to you and pray for those less fortunate. Look around and make sure that those around you have a place to go for Thanksgiving. This day is all about togetherness and sharing.

Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours.
