JAN SHOWERS ~ LIVING AND DINING ROOMS

Well this has been an adventure. I didn't know just how wonderful my Mac was until I was forced to part with it for a few days. This old pc and my iPad just don't get it! Miserable.

This is an old post on Jane Showers that I posted as a new blogger, so I know that most of you haven't seen it. ENJOY, and I will see you in a day or two!

See you soon,
Teresa

This beautiful home was designed by the extremely talented interior designer Jan Showers. The Austin home is owned by marketing firm owner Carla McDonald and husband Jack, a technology entrepreneur.

Glamorous doesn't begin to describe this home. ENJOY!

Glamorous Rooms ~ Jan Showers Part III

.

Private Spaces and Bedrooms

Emily Post's Etiquette, 17th Edition (Thumb Indexed)
Emily Post's Etiquette, 17th Edition (Thumb Indexed)...
Embracing Etiquette with Teresa continued... see introduction post (1-29-10). Lesson 9 – The greeting.

INFORMAL GREETINGS

Spoken, gestured, or both. It is proper to address with a hello, hi, hey (in some regions) and the person’s name. While young people have their own lingo, THEY MUST PROPERLY ADDRESS those outside of their circles with the traditional greeting.

Always speak to everyone. Do not forget the salespeople, repair people, cashiers, waiters/waitresses, hotel employees, and anyone else you should run into.

Never avoid a greeting because you are in a hurry. If you are in a hurry, just say hello and explain that you are late for an appointment or in a rush.

There are times when a wave or smile in public places such as the theater or restaurant are appropriate, and other times when a greeting should be held until later in the visit if it indicates lack of interest in a speaker or performance.

In the next post we will discuss formal meetings.

See you soon,
Teresa
