If you have plans for a swimming pool in your future or plan to update your present pool, SPLASH is the book for you.  It is a must-have!

I have never seen so many stunning designs and fresh ideas as the ones included in this book. There are infinity pools, cascading waterfall pools, and pools located in lush gardens and on the ocean. The designs and architecture surrounding these pools are breathtaking!

Written and photographed by a husband and wife team, Tim Street-Porter and Annie Kelly make  amazing co-authors. Tim is an architecture and design photographer, and Annie is a writer.

Being a creative person myself, I was taken by this lovely book. Each page is a beautiful image of finished paper flowers or instruction on creating them. There are also 15 templates so that you can create your own arrangement.

You will be shown the process for curling petals, scoring and wiring leaves and wrapping stems. You will also see instruction on arranging these flowers.

I can't wait to create my own arrangement.  ENJOY!

 Suzi McLaughlin graduated from Fairmont Art College. She was commissioned to create a life-size garden for BBC Gardener's world team and was awarded the RHS gold award. She has also created installations for Jo Malone's flagship London store Harvey Nichols, Harrods, John Lewis and for the magazines Elle and You and Your Wedding.

In this beautiful book by Nora Murphy, the author shares six lovely country homes in the mountains, in the country, by the sea, in a village, in the city, and in the woods. The looks range from elegant country to English cottage country to vintage farmhouse country to French country. 

With her extensive knowledge of country homes, Nora seeks to teach the beauty of these homes, and at the same time reminds us why a country home is so welcoming and beautiful.

About the Author

Nora studied interior design at the Fashion Institute of Technology.  She founded her own firm, providing interior design, architecture, and product illustration and soon began work as  a design project manager for Polo Ralph Lauren which led to her long career with Ethan Allen. She later launched Nora Murphy Country House.

Nora lives with her husband and son in Connecticut.

I can't say enough about this stunning book, written by fellow blogger Jennifer Boles, author of the fabulous blog, The Peak of Chic. Her work here is outstanding.

Opulence and grandeur are two words that come to mind when I think of ways to describe the over 400 pages and 350 images within. The fabrics, textures, fine art and antiques, yards of curtains, the finest of rugs, and the world most beautiful accessories fill each room.

100 years of the world's most talented designer's work is included in Inspired Design. This is one for the holiday list, friends.

From the front cover to the back cover, this book is filled with beautiful rooms filled with an abundance of fabrics, upholstery, stunning pieces of furniture, rugs, textures, colors, art in many mediums, stone, wood, and marble. Patrick's many years of traveling with his travel journalist father and fashion model mother nurtured his talent as an architect and interior designer.

Below are a few of the images included in the over 200 pages of this lavish and extensive book are ten residences, and four hotels and restaurants. The designer takes us on a tour of each room, leaving no detail unturned.  

I spent hours poring over this book, and I hope that you also will add this too your library.  It is certainly a favorite of mine.  ENJOY!

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

Patrick Sutton is the founder of his namesake firm, Patrick Sutton. He has received the ICAA John Russell Pope Award for Outstanding Residential Design, was named the Boutique Hotel Designer of the year in 2017, and was awarded the Washington Designer's Choice Award for Hall of Fame of Interior Design in 2017.

Linda Jane Holden did a wonderful job writing and gathering timeless images for this beautiful book, and she spent an enormous amount of time interviewing the gardener. The book is filled with gardens created by the talented Bunny Mellon.

Bunny landscaped gardens for friends which included the Kennedys, the White House, Hubert de Givenchy, gardens in Versailles, and Paris. Mrs. Mellon's personal gardens are also shared. Public and private gardens are also included in this must have book.
