If you were trying to find me yesterday, I was locked in my room poring over the pages of Jane Scott Hodges' new book, Linens: For Every Room and Occasion.  There is no way I can do this book justice by using words, and while I will make an attempt, you will have to see for yourself. To call the book an exceptional masterpiece would be an understatement.  Jane has redefined the perfect monogram.

Overflowing with breathtaking images, information, and diagrams on linens for bedroom, bath, and table, this is your go-to-book for anything linen. There is a wealth of necessary information on monograms, linen etiquette, table settings, linen care, storage, and party planning.

I am sharing just a very few of the images in the book, but there are 235 pages of perfection, friends, and I hope that you ENJOY! Thank you to Jane Scott Hodges, owner of Leontine Linens, for a book that we can pass on for generations.

THE ART OF CALLIGRAPHY

It is National Letter Writing Month, and as all of you know, pen and paper are close to my heart. I started the month with a post on the demise of cursive writing.  If you missed the post, you can find it here. Today I would like to focus on calligraphy.  Next Monday, I will be sharing my favorite stationery and accessories.

Who doesn't love to receive a beautiful letter or invitation written and addressed in calligraphy?  This age old art takes things to a new level and lets the recipient know just how special they are to you.

I have dabbled in calligraphy before, but I am now learning copperplate, and I must say I am thoroughly enjoying it.  I have a work space set up, and I work on the strokes and letters as often as possible.

If you are interested in calligraphy, I would suggest finding an instructor nearby or studying online.  There are many online lessons, especially on youtube.  Most helpful for me on everything calligraphy is IAMPETH.  Not only will you find videos and instructions on everything copperplate, including the supplies you will need to get started, the guidelines, and supply sources, but you will also find lessons on other forms of writing. You will need to study the videos as much as you practice writing.  This way, you will not create bad habits early on.

ENJOY the images of the beautiful calligraphy below and get started today!

And who doesn’t love clothes and jewelry?
The cover photo of Kacy Lubell was taken by the talented Rima Brindamour.
