When the talented interior designer Ruthie Sommers, at that time seven months pregnant, was asked by friends to decorate their Chicago townhouse, she was happy to oblige. ENJOY!
The first room is particularly beautiful - such subtle shades of pink and lemon in the gorgeous rug. A very calm room. http://missbbobochic.blogspot.co.uk/
I loved this home and the story behind it! I have loved Ruthie's style ever since I saw her on a long gone HGTV show called Area. She had redone her little brother's apartment and it was the first time I had seen dark walls, white curtains...and it seemed so brave and chic.
How you find out about all of these fabulous designers is beyond me! I would love to know your secret! I can always count on you for a very inspirational post and one that makes me want to re-do my house, my shop, etc… This was beautiful!
I just love this December Veranda issue I have been constantly leafing through it , its just great! I love Ruthie's rooms as well, and how fresh and inviting they are! I know you must love the cover of Veranda as well, it reminds me of your style.. traditionally elegant! Happy Wednesday, Karolyn
I adore Ruthie Sommers! Another one with Southern roots, she grew up right here in Charlotte, NC! She is the epitome of style in my book! Love it! Have a great Thursday Teresa!
great post, have been waiting to see the outcome as my friend, patrick roullier, a fine decorative painter, did the walls and much more in the home than shown. cheers debra
I love all of the rooms Teresa!! I especially love the high gloss black lacquer walls, the reflection from the lights on the walls makes the space seem larger. Have a wonderful weekend!
After spending years in the world of finance, I decided to follow my true passion—curating a life where southern elegance meets southern heritage. That led me to create Splendid Sass, a haven for gathering and sharing my love for design, art and cooking, and TG Hatfield Company, where I embroider fine heirloom linens that will garner hospitality for generations. From the exquisite linens that set the table, to the food that is shared with family & friends, to the warm & cozy room that invites guests, join me as I share the things that inspire me and help create a truly elegant life.

Everything is so beautifully done. Hanging out in that living room would seriously take my blood pressure down a notch or two!
