PAMELA PIERCE ~ DESIGN IN TEXAS

There was no doubt in interior designer Pamela Pierce's mind when she made the decision to totally reconstruct this home and start over using old stone, limestone, plaster, and reclaimed wood.  Pierce raised the ceilings a foot in parts of the home and put in steel windows and doors.

The furnishings were mostly French, and Pierce used loosely fitted linen slipcovers on the upholstery to soften the rooms.  Lavender accents were used throughout the house to give character and warmth to the stone and other textures.

It took three years to complete this renovation, but Pierce is convinced that it was well worth the wait.  Her client agrees.  ENJOY!

To read more about this renovation read the May-June issue of Veranda magazine.

My husband and I intend to build a home very similar to this in Australia when he retires. We currently live in NY where he's worked in the finance industry all his working life and we've been waiting for the day when we can walk away from it all and build a structure of intense beauty. We have the land, which currently has a small house from the 1930's on it. We'll bull doze that and build in sandstone and fill it with the Australian antiques we've spent a lifetime collecting. It's so encouraging to see a building of this type and to know that our design dreams are possible. Beautiful work by all engaged in this project.
