HOUSE BEAUTIFUL DESIGNER VISIONS: CINEMA STYLE SHOWCASE HOME

The House Beautiful Designer Visions: Cinema Style showcase home was designed by interior designer Heather Moore for Jed Johnson Associates. The apartment was inspired by the movie, Factory Girl, based on the life of Edie Sedgwick. There was nothing dull about Sedgwick, and there is nothing dull about this home.

The Fifth Avenue apartment is decorated with midcentury furnishings, and the eclectic mix melds beautifully with the contemporary art, such as the Warhol shown here. Moore drew inspiration from the fabrics, and there is an edge to everything she created. ENJOY!

SALVATORE LAROSA AND RONALD BENTLEY ~ DESIGN IN MIAMI

When prominent real-estate firm owners and philanthropists Adam Rose and Peter McQuillan decided to renovate and design a nineteenth floor apartment in Miami as their second home, they called on designers Salvatore Larosa and Ronald Bentley. The designer’s company, B Five Studio, have been designing homes for the couple for 20 years, including the client’s main home in Westchester on fifty-six acres of landscaped land.

After gutting the apartment, the design team began in the middle and worked out designing the home around the media room, designing much of the furnishings themselves. The floor to ceiling windows and the white walls and furnishing showcase their extensive artwork and sculpture pieces.

Landscape architect Douglas Reed designed the terrace of beautiful gardens that surround three sides of the home. ENJOY!

ROBERT BROWN ~ DESIGN FOR MACRAE

First, let me warn you ahead of time about something.  I have just downloaded Lion to my my computer, and it is changing my words.  For example, it changed "catcher" to "catheter" and would not take no for an answer!  I just need to learn more about it and how to use it, but if you get a strange message, blame it on Lion, haha!
***
When Mary Prillaman asked interior designer Robert Brown to design a line of furnishings for MacRae, he obliged. When she divulged that this was her second design request from a southern designer, the first being Bobby McAlpine, I knew that I was going to love this new line. It also tells me that Mary Prillaman has great taste in designers, Robert Brown included.

Brown describes his new line as "simple, refined and functional." I describe it as perfection. ENJOY!

Brown's collection is available through Holland & Company.

ALLEGRA HICKS ~ INTERIOR DESIGN

Interior designer Allegra is full force ahead after her divorce from husband Ashley Hicks, son of David Hicks. Hicks completed design school in Milan, studied trompe l’oeil and fresco painting in Belgium, and later attended Parsons School of Design in New York.  Her line of fabric, rug, and curtain designs show not only evidence of her training, but a natural ability to create.

An eclectic mix of furnishings and art are a backdrop for Hick’s use of fabric, paying special attention to texture, patterns, and color in her London rowhouse. ENJOY!

You can find Allegra’s line of fabric and tabletop accessories at West Elm, and her rugs at The Rug Company.
