The A-List

Elle Decor's A-List in this month's issue is beautiful.  Below I have posted the rooms decorated by a few of my favorite designers, along with a few that were new to me.  To see the entire A-List of thirty talented designers in this month's Elle Decor visit the webpage or purchase a copy at your local bookstore.

For those of you that follow me, you know that Miles Redd is one of my favorite designers.  If you would like to see more by Miles Redd, I have an entire post on his work in my archive.

The ever so talented Charlotte Moss

Who doesn't love Michael Smith?

This playful decor by designer Alex Papachristidis mingles different colors and styles beautifully.

I love this dining area designed by Robert Couturier.

The peach upholstery used in this room designed by Joe Nahem is serene.

The bookshelves in this room by designer Jeffrey Bilhuber are interesting.

I couldn't find a better way to end this post.  I adore this room by designer William Sofield.

Please excuse my lack of attention to my blog this week, as things have been difficult at our house.  I hope to have the etiquette posts back on here next week.  Have a great weekend!

See you soon,
Teresa

Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts

.
Welcome to the Montgomery
Museum of Fine Arts...

Patrick Dougherty...

I am happy to have gotten some really good photographs of this exhibit because it has been taken down. Southern Accents did a piece on this exhibit last year.

I was going to show you my photographs of some of the collections at the museum, but they have now put up a site with the permanent collections online. ENJOY!

They can also be found on Facebook.

You can find more on Patrick Dougherty here.

See you soon,

This Is It

Finally...

After years of going back and forth on colors to use in my living and dining room area, I have decided on brown/olive brown as my color scheme.  I love this dining room in the June issue of Architectural Digest.

Many years ago the builders accidentally laid brown carpet in my family room instead of the sand color ordered.  Unfortunately, it was after they replaced it that I realized how much I liked the color.

I have always kept tear sheets and magazines, and I noticed that brown was the dominant color saved.  I will use brown and lavender in my bedroom.  So...wish me luck.

I wish I could find the photo that turned on the light in my stubborn brain, but I found these rooms designed by Kelley Proxmire via My Knotting Hill blog.

Domino via Little Green Notebook blog.

I love the fabric used to cover the chairs above.

See you soon,
