When the uber-talented interior designer Benjamin Dhong designs a room, he creates a space for good living. Ben's use of art is stunning and is what first drew me to his work. The candelabra in the first image has me drooling, as does the guilted wallpaper. The title of the article in which this San Francisco row house is showcased is Sexy Dreamy Dramatic. I think the title fits perfectly.
The client, a 40-year-old British investment banker, asked for a very modern interior, but Dhong knew that a person who chooses to drive an Aston Martin and wear bespoke suits may not be as modern as they think they are. Working with the client, he created a contemporary yet chic interior using an eclectic mix. The textures, designs, and colors of the fabrics, rugs, and furnishings are diverse, and the wall colors meld it together perfectly. ENJOY!
Ben mentioned the music of Etta James in the article, and since she is one of my favorite artists,
I thought I would add a little "At Last" to this post. James will be missed, but her music will always stand the test of time.
Thank you, Ben, for making certain that I didn't miss this spectacular home and your work.

crisp and beautiful interiors, teresa! donna
His interiors are an interesting blend of modern soft edges with an injection of pop pieces that nod to the past. It's a nice blend.
Etta is of course know for 'At Last', she is one of my favourite past times artists. To hear the 'other side' of Etta explore iTunes and listen to - Damn Your Eyes {from Seven Year Itch album}, or Only Time Will Tell {Chess Soul album}. Her voice is powerful.
Very glamorous and sophisticated vibe going on there....beautiful.
Hope you have a great start to the week Teresa.
Love the eclectic glam of it all - such an interesting mix, there's so much of interest in each photo, but not at all over dine.
Happy Monday, Teresa! XO
I love how he mixes sleek modern pieces with ones that have more of a historical or cultural reference. The overall look is an intriguing eclectic look that is very sophisticated in style.
My issue just arrived today...can't wait to get a closer look at these interiors! I love how it does seem to meld the bespoke (traditional) with the modern. I'd say this is one happy banker!!
Hope you have a wonderful day, Teresa!

Benjamin's house was by far our favorite of the issue and thank you for sharing his love of Etta James - she is as unique as his interiors. Happy Monday, Teresa.

Benjamin Dhong is one of my all time favorite designers. And this project showcases his design talents wonderfully! I love how he mixes the following: modern, Swedish painted antiques, traditional and transitional. Very stylish!

I'd say he did a great job in creating the new "traditional" in this home. Loved the blends of traditional pieces with transitional design. And of course that faux bois bathroom wall paper is fabulous!
