DESIGN ON THE UPPER EAST SIDE

Ashley Stark, descendant of the home furnishings giant, Stark, found her way home and bought an apartment in the Rosario Candela building.  Stark lived in the Rosario Candela building as a child, and wanted to be in a place built prewar.  Before the designing began, Stark called on Philip Gorrivan to complete a minimal amount of renovation and a slight revision of the layout.

Throughout her childhood, Stark spent days in auctions, flea markets, and antique stores but when it came time to design the interior of her own home, she sought the help of a couple of designers to help her with the task of putting the antiques that she had inherited, the art collection, and her new purchases together. Interior designers James Aman and John Meeks helped Stark create a home that she could be comfortable in while staying true to the family empire.  ENJOY!

  9. Love the family room, (the blue room) and the dining room except for the urchin looking light fixture, feel it detracts a little from the beauty of the room but overall a nice apt.

  10. Love those tiger striped ottomans. I do find the hand chairs a bit scary - though maybe they're comfortable.
