In the past couple of months, in addition to my regular work, I have refinished a double pedestal dining room table, stripped 6 dining room chairs, stripped a large dresser and mirror, gilded the mirror and stripped it again, because I wasn't happy with the results. I rarely refinish furniture, but these pieces fell into my lap, and it is outrageously expensive to have it done, several thousand for the pieces I had to finish.
I have painted four oils, sewn and embroidered numerous linen towels, some of them bath size, and for all of the graduates I embroidered white linen hand towels with their initials in their favorite colors, and I can’t tell you how many pieces I embroidered for my daughter and myself. I would not like to think that I had to do all of this for a living. I will try to get some pictures made of all of this work soon.
Summer is the time for me to get work like this done, because I detest the heat, and I try to stay inside as much as possible. Once I have all of my materials and machines out, I like to get it done and put it all away until another bout of insanity hits, usually once a year or longer. Spring, fall, and winter are my favorite seasons, and I love every minute of each.
I also plan to sculpt a few portrait busts to cast and revisit painting with watercolor, which I haven’t done in years. Most importantly, I have been spending time with my daughter, who is home from college and will be returning soon for her last year.

I am looking forward to getting back to my normal work schedule. Thank you for your friendship, support, and loyalty to my blog, as it is my true labor of love.

Wow Teresa..you have been one busy girl! No wonder you are under the weather (that makes two of us). Thankfully getting better on this end, hope you are too!
These are all beautiful...love making a statement with a foyer, its the first impression and a chance to really "wow" visitors to your home.
Have a great weekend and hope you get some rest!
Would love to see pictures of all your work...bet its gorgeous!
Teresa you've been a worker bee! We want to see what you've been doing! Those are the projects that are candy to us. I'm not big on refinishing, and as Bethany said " I hate stripping". hahaha, me too. I had no idea the talents you possess, but I am not surprised since you have such great taste. Enjoy your daughter, that surely is most important this summer.

I cannot believe you've been doing ALL of that! That's pretty amazing and I wish I could any one of those things…let alone all of them! Please post some pics when you can! I hope you get much better very quickly and that you can enjoy your weekend. Love the pictures you posted! So lovely!

Wow! Teresa, do you sleep? I'm so proud and impressed with all your efforts and would LOVE to see some the the results. How wonderful. And yes, I think you should start playing with watercolors (in your spare time), would love to see that, too. Most importantly, enjoy the time with your daughter. I'm sure she loves being home! XO
I'm so glad that you are getting to spend time with your daughter! Clearly the most important thing. I keep trying to tell myself there is no rush on projects, but it's hard. You have gotten so much done - I hope you show us ;)

Oh my goodness Teresa, I had no idea you could do all of those things! I'm very impressed. And jealous! I'm looking forward to seeing what you've been doing! I'm not a summer girl either. Staying indoors in this heat is the way to go! Happy Friday!
It's so nice to hear what you're doing, Teresa. You are a busy lady! And all such creative endeavors too. Good luck getting them all done!
Wow Teresa, it sounds as though you have been working your tail feathers off!! Great images. I especially like the globe lights that are in several of the photos. Charles Edwards lights maybe? Thanks for sharing.
